Radio Makahari

Another surprise from Norway was Radio Makahari. Mostly active around Christmas 1993 with strange music and even stranger programs. The programs was made up from Children’s Channel and different commercials!

Makahari was relayed via the transmitter of Christian Pirate Broadcasting Network. The station name was often confused with “Mata Hari”, which was quite wrong. It was told that the operator actually had rather strong ties to New Zealand, and in his first programmes one could hear Polynesian music, which surely is quite unusual for European pirate stations!

He also borrowed some equipment from Christian Pirate Broadcasting Network during the first period of broadcasting, so he could also be heard QSOing with other Free Radio stations.
The address for Makahari was the Wuppertal maildrop.
